I have consistently been have problems with OneWorld (B73.3.1 SP11.3)
P48013. When I try to enter a new work order, I always get an error 'Start
Date Cannot be Calculated'. It then always defaults to the Requested date.

Anyone have any thoughts? JDEdwards support has been unsuccessful so far.

Thanks
Vik

Vikas:

What is the lead time and request date you are trying to generate an order
for? Also, does a shop floor calendar exist?

Joe,

Lead time for the part is 10 days and the shop floor calendar exists for 2
years in the past and five years into the future. Everything seems to be
fine there. But I have the problem with any part, not selected ones.

Vikas

Do you have an entry in the number of Work Hours Per Day for the Branch Plant (Manufacturing constants - P3009) ?

Dave,

Yes, there is an entry for an 8 hour shift.

We are also running 733.1 SP 11.3 and we did have a problem with this
program right after the SP11.3 installation. Actually it was the way our
user was blanking out the start date. Prior to SP11.3 the user would place
his cursor in the start date field and hit the space bar and everything
went through correctly. He called me just after the update and reported a
Date error and so I went over and watched what he was doing. It was a
difficult troubleshooting process because I would sit down and it worked
fine for me, he would do it and it would error out. We finally went step
by step and found that he wasn't deleting the date but hitting the space
bar. I don't know if this could be your problem, but it is worth a try.

Thanks and have a great day,

That was worth a try. Unfortunately, I still have the problem. It seems
like the system is not even recognizing the calendar for some reason, but
only with this process because the calendar seems to operate properly in
other areas. It is only when the system tries to back schedule the work
order start dates that we run into problems.

Since you mentioned that you had an 8 hour shift, have you not only setup
the branch plant calendar, but also the shift calendar.

Bruce,

When you say 'shift calendar', where do you set this up? I have the branch
calendars setup for both blank shifts and the actual shifts that we use. I
use menu P00071 (Shop Floor Calendar) in G3141 to do this.

Vik

That's correct. Another area to posibly look at is if Branch Plant "ALL" is
setup up. If it is, I would then try setting up a shift calendar for "ALL"
to test to see if that might do it.
