Problems re-building Update package for ESU 4116422

NT4.0 Sp6a, SQL Server 7 with MDAC 2.5.

We first made an update package for client for ESU 4116422.
But we didin't specify for server as a target, and so, had problems saying
that F40NN missing after running on a station where we deployed the update
package.
We tried to re-build the same update package but for both client and
server. NEVER succeded.
The UBE runs forever and never stops, and we have to manually kill the
process (after 24 hours running).
We tried to re-build server alone, and client alone, but NEVER succeeded.
Probably missing something important.
Did someones encountered such problem ? Any experiences ? A real nightmare
for us. We are blocking.

Thanks for any incoming idea !

Both Deployment and Entreprise servers are using: NT4.0 Sp6a, SQL Server 7
with MDAC 2.5. Backoffice 4.5

Didn't you have to build that table manually? Someone
help me out here but I think in the ESU special
instructions there were steps to build F40NN manually.

This is right off the 4116422 special instructions Page.

Before you build and deploy the package,
you MUST manually Generate the table F40NN.
This is a new table used by both Purchase
Order Entry and Sales Order Entry.
In Object Librarian, search on application
P40NN. Run this application from Object
Librarian. Click the button that says
"Add Job Number". This will populate
table F40NN with SY=00 and JOBS=1. This
only needs to be done once.

Perform the special instruction on the environment where you are doing the
package build. In that it will ask you to manually build F40NN. Then build
a full package for both client and server.

Somewhere in the ESU documentation there is a section that talks about
F40NN missing. These are the steps that we did to correct this problem
with F40NN missing. But we did not encounter the problem with the package
not completing successful, but we noticed this problem with in the
environment where this table was missing and giving the users errors.

Sign into OW and in Object Librarian
Check out the file F40NN to your workstation
Generate the table from the Form Exit bar
Once you receive that the table is generated successfully
Erase the check out of F40NN

In Object Librarian, search on application P40NN.
Run this application from object librarian. Click the button that says
"Add Job Number"
This will populate the table F40NN with SY=0 and JOBS = 1.

Then verify that file does exist on the AS400. Use the SQL command
Select * from XXXDTA/F40NN <ENTER> (XXX - can be for CRP or PROD)
There should be some records displaying on the screen.

Tricia,
It's in the special instructions - but you described the actions to
take very well. I'm thinking that index generation also had to be done
though.
